The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Society for Social Service (SSS) held with a festive, warm and inspirational atmosphere on Saturday, 15 November 2025, at 10:00 AM at the conference room of SSS Head Office in Dhaka, bringing together the members of both the Executive and General Boards in a remarkable gathering.

In a transparent and democratic process, the meeting elected the new Executive Board for the upcoming term. Mr. Kazi Zakerul Moula, General Secretary of Tangail Press Club, has been elected as the Chairperson of the Executive Board of SSS–ushering in a new era of leadership, energy and strategic commitment for the organization.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Murshed Alam Sarker, outgoing Chairperson of the Executive Board, while Mr. Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan, Acting Executive Director and Member Secretary, efficiently conducted the event.

The President expressed cordial gratitude to all members of the SSS family for their cooperation, dedication and unwavering commitment. He also outlined future strategies aimed at accelerating the organizational growth and strengthening development initiatives.

As per the agenda, the meeting approved: Minutes of the previous AGM, Financial Report for FY 2024-25, Annual Report, Annual Work Plan and Budget for FY 2025-26. A proposed budget of Tk. 181,038.10 million for the 2025-26 fiscal year was unanimously approved, reflecting SSS expanding scope, confidence and development ambitions.

 

Prayer for the Founder and Acknowledgment of His Legacy

Before officially beginning the session, members offered a special prayer for the speedy recovery of the Founder and Executive Director of SSS–Mr. Abdul Hamid Bhuiyan is currently undergoing treatment in Thailand. His visionary leadership, humanity and lifelong commitment to social service were remembered with deep respect and emotion.

A brief yet insightful discussion followed on SSS ongoing development programs and major initiatives across the country. The members highlighted how SSS continues to positively transform the lives of marginalized people, reaffirming its role as a trusted and impactful development partner.

 

New Executive Board Formed

A nine-member Executive Board was elected for the new term. Key positions include: Chairperson–Mr. Kazi Zakerul Moula, Vice-Chairperson–Ms. Tahmina Parvin and Treasurer–Mr. S. M. Parvez. As the Executive Director was absent due to medical reasons, Acting Executive Director Mr. Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan will continue to serve as Member Secretary as per the constitution. Members of the General Board congratulated the newly elected honorable members and pledged their full cooperation for the organization future activities.
In his speech as Chairperson–Mr. Kazi Zakerul Moula expressed deep gratitude to all members and conveyed his firm commitment–We will work together with unity, determination and integrity to take the glorious journey of SSS even further. No challenge is too great when we face it together. His words ignited a fresh wave of energy, confidence and optimism among members.

The AGM concluded on a high note–with enthusiasm, solidarity and faith in the new leadership. Members expressed a strong belief–under the guidance of the newly elected Executive Board, SSS will move toward greater progress, stronger implementation capacity and wider developmental impact.
