Like every year, with profound respect, patriotic spirit, and due solemnity, Society for Social Service (SSS) observed–the Independence and National Day 2026.
The program commenced at 8:00 AM at the SSS Foundation Office in Tangail, where staff members gathered and ceremonially hoisted the national flag, marking the beginning of the observance. The atmosphere was filled with a deep sense of pride and remembrance for the martyrs of the liberation war.
Following the flag hoisting, a vibrant rally was brought out under the SSS banner. The rally marched through the important roads of the town–including Mymensingh Road, Old Bus Stand, and Zilla Sadar Road–before reaching the Shahid Smrity Poura Udyan, Tangail at 8:30 AM.
At the Martyrs’ Monument in Shahid Smrity Poura Udyan, SSS representatives joined hands with various government and non-government organizations, political leaders, socio-cultural groups, and members of the mass media to pay heartfelt tribute by placing wreaths, honoring the sacrifices of the nation heroes.
In addition to the central program, SSS offices at zone, area, and branch levels (following the direction of the respected upazila and district administrations), along with educational institutions–SSS-Poura Ideal High School, Sonar Bangla Children Home, and SSS Non-Government Polytechnic Institute–organized daylong activities. These included discussions, cultural program, and awareness initiatives, all reflecting the spirit of independence and national pride.
Through these meaningful engagements, SSS once again reaffirmed the commitment to the values of freedom, unity, and social development, which define the nation.
