Financial support to COVID-19 pandemic affected members

SSS took initiatives to provide grant of Tk. 1,000 each to 40,000 group members harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic in the working area. In order to observe 46th death anniversary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the grant distributing activities were scheduled to continue through the month of August. For this purpose, SSS allotted Tk. 4 crore from its own fund.

 

On the first day (10 August 2021, Tuesday), Abdul Hamid Bhuiyan, Executive Director of SSS inaugurated the grant providing activities in Tangail Sadar and Nagar branches. Then the group members received grant money respectively from Santosh Chandra Paul, Director (Credit); Mubarak Hossain, Assistant Director (Publication); Shamsul Arefin, Assistant Director (HRD and Admin); Mohammad Faisal Ahmed, Senior Program Manager (HRD and Admin), Md. Jahangir Hossain Khan,  Coordinator (ENRICH and NEM); Asish Kumar Paul, Sr. Asst. Prog. Manager (HRD and Admin); Biplob Das, Area Manager; branch manager Imran Hossain and Sahera Khatun.

 

On 14 August (Saturday), a grant providing ceremony was held in the compound of Bindu Basini Govt. Boys’ High School of Tangail on the occasion of 46th death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the national mourning day-2021. Honorable MP of Tangail-5 Alhajj Md. Sanwar Hossain was present at the ceremony as chief guest to deliver the grant money to the people harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 400 group members under some branches of Tangail Sadar Upazila received grant money of Tk. 1,000 each.

 

Among others who spoke at the ceremony were: SM Shirajul Haque Alamgir, Mayor of Tangail Municipality; Md. Shahjahan Ansari, Chairman of Tangail Sadar Upazila Parishad; Md. Aminul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) , Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan, Director of SSS (HRD & Admin) and Kazi Jakerul Maula, member of SSS Executive Committee and General Secretary of Tangail Press Club.
