The victory day observance in Tangail: SSS organized a number of programs

In line with the observance of the golden jubilee of the independence of Bangladesh as well as Mujib Barsha, the victory day was celebrated on 16 December 2021 with a number of activities. SSS participated in different programs held by the District Administration of Tangail. SSS and its different wings also arranged various activities including discussion and cultural ceremonies along with those of the local administration.

On this occasion, a rally was brought out at 7 am on 16 December (Thursday) from the SSS Foundation Office. Officers and staffs of SSS participated at the rally and it ended up by placing wreaths at the Martyr’s Monument at the Poura Udyan in Tangail. Along with SSS, participants from different socio-cultural organizations, educational institutions, NGOs and mass media also offered their flowery tribute at the monument.

At 10 am, a discussion meeting on the significance of the victory day was held at SSS-Poura Ideal High School, situated in Horizan Palli near Babystand in Tangail. In the discussion meeting, the participants put emphasis on the independence and liberation war of Bangladesh and the biography of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Md. Fazlul Karim Khan, Headmaster of Poura Ideal High School presided over the meeting whereas Mohammed Jubayer, Coordinator of Education and Child Development program of SSS spoke at the meeting as chief guest. At that time, teachers, guardians and a good number of students of the school were present. A cultural and prize distributing ceremony was held at the end of the discussion meeting.

At the same time, a discussion meeting was organized at SSS Non-government Polytechnic Institute, situated in Pach Bikramhati of Tangail. Mahbubul Alam, Acting Principal of the Institute presided over the meeting whereas Mubarak Hossain, Assistant Director (Publication) of SSS was present there as chief guest. The participants and senior instructors of the institute delivered speeches on the victory day, Bangabandhu’s life and activities at the meeting.

At 12 pm, a discussion meeting on the victory day was also held in SSS-Sonar Bangla Children Home in Kuizbari of Tangail. At the meeting, presided by the Principal of the Children Home Mustafizur Rahman, the participants discussed about the independence, liberation war and the biography of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Freedom Fighter Abdul Kuddus, secretary of Freedomfighters Affairs of Tangail Sadar Awami League spoke at the meeting as chief guest. More than a hundred children of Sonar Bangla Children Home were present at the meeting. A drawing competition and cultural ceremony was held at the end of the discussion meeting.
